Prompt:
Create a character based of NYC’s Vessel building. Using the building’s significance in social memory to respond to its constructed identity in popular culture.

Brief:
This project was done by me and another peer. She was responsible for texturing and modeling the clothes. I was responsible for rendering, character model, and environment creation. We choose to create an alien fashion designer, Malvina Vessel, who fell in love with the NYC building. The Vessel is not only a beautiful and interesting structure it is also at the center of a shopping precinct. So for my character I wanted to combine the ideas of modernity and the aspects that come with high end shopping. The character wears very avant-garde clothing that is made of the same material as the building. The character will also follow the same ideals of wealth and beauty, this will be shown through the physical appearance. Having high cheekbones and a very thin body will accentuate extreme beauty standards and the greed of perfection that comes with wealth.
