Create an image or abstract work based on specific art style
Brief
I chose Junji Ito, the renowned horror manga artist, as my inspiration in an attempt to capture his distinctive style of horror and unsettling creatures. Many of his works take ordinary settings or objects and twist them into something disturbingly surreal. With this in mind, I decided on an elementary school, a place often associated with happy childhood memories, as the setting for my piece. I first created the general shapes of the objects in Maya, then imported them into ZBrush to refine the finer details. The final piece takes the form of a manga panel, designed to be read from right to left and presented in classic black and white. To enhance its authenticity, I used Photoshop to add grain and texture, mimicking the look of sketching on paper.
